Genocide is when a certain person or group has such a strong hatred towards another person or group that they are willing to kill or torture them. A lot of people aren't aware of what takes place within a genocide. They sometimes mistake it as just being the Holocaust. This is taking place all of the world today. A lot of genocides occur during to religion controversy or ethnic background differences. One genocide that is most referred to is the Holocaust. This was when the Germans killed and tortured anyone who wasn't of the white race. Everything that happened during the Holocaust was orchestrated by Adolf Hitler. There wasn't much reasoning for why Hitler wanted to hurt other people. Some say that he was mentally unstable, but one may never tell.
Genocide is still taking place in our world today. ISIS is in some parts of Iraq and Syria and killing people who aren't of their specific religion. The religion of ISIS is Islamic. Some have said that they have killed people from their own religion. Many reporters have gone out of our country to try to search for answers from the ISIS group. Some of those reporters were taken captive and were beheaded by the ISIS people. The leader of this group is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He has been the leader of ISIS since 2010. President Obama has said in a recent interview with NBC that, " If we don’t have inside of Iraq, or inside of Syria, or inside of Afghanistan both the capacity and will of people to fight for themselves, then any gains that are made eventually dissipate. So this takes longer, but it’s the right way to do things." Genocide is something that may never come to an end around the world because of various religious beliefs and many different ethnic backgrounds.
